Day 1: Istanbul Arrival – Kayseri – Cappadocia

Arrival to Istanbul Airport as per your flight. Continue to take your flight to Kayseri. Kayseri arrival. Meet and greet. Transfer to your hotel. After welcome dinner; a very brief information about the layout of the whole itinerary.

Overnight at Cappadocia. (D)

Day 2: Cappadocia

After having breakfast at the hotel, depart for a tour of Cappadocia. Visit to Goreme Open Air Museum with Byzantine Cave Churches and beautiful frescoes including Dark Church. Visit Chavushin to see how people lived in the caves. Then visit Monks Valley (Pashabaglari) and Devrent Valley to see unique fairy chimneys. After visiting Avanos for a local pottery demonstration of an ancient Hittite technique have lunch and visit to Kaymakli Underground City where locals could hide in safety throughout history. Finally, visit to Pigeon Valley where you can enjoy the panoramic view. Return to your hotel after the tour.

Day 3: Cappadocia – Kayseri – Izmir

(Optional early morning hot air balloon tour) After having breakfast at the hotel, depart for a full day tour of Cappadocia. Drive to Derinkuyu Underground City with dwellings, stables, cellars, storage rooms, refectories, churches and vineries which were used by the Christian Communities. Then visit Ihlara Valley, carved by nature out of the ashes of the volcanic Mount Hasan. After hiking through the valley, which is watered with Melendiz River via Belisırma, proceed to Selime with hollowed out citadels and churches where fairy chimneys rest on the steep hillside. Continue to Kayseri Airport for your flight to Izmir. Izmir arrival and proceed to your hotel.

Day 4: Izmir (Smyrna) – Pergamon – Thyatira – Kusadasi

After having breakfast at the hotel, early departure to visit the Church of St. Polycarpe which is the oldest church in ancient Smyrna (Smyrna Revelation 2:8-11), symbolized the community of the Seven Churches of the Apocalypse. Then proceed to visit Pergamon (Pergamon Revelation 2:12-17), the Acropolis, the Asclepion and the Red Basilica. Then drive to Akhisar to visit the Church of Ancient Thyatira (Thyatira Revelation 2:18-29 Acts 16:14) which was a commercial and agricultural center on the highway between Troy and Sardes.

Continue to Kusadasi for dinner and overnight. (B, L, D)

Day 5: Kusadasi – Ephesus – Pamukkale

After having breakfast at the hotel, proceed to visit the unforgettable remains of Ephesus (Ephesus Revelation 1:11:2:1-7 Acts 18:19-28:19), the House of Virgin Mary, the Archaeological Museum and the Basilica of Saint John.

Continue to Pamukkale for dinner and overnight at the hotel. (B, L, D)

Day 6: Hierapolis (Pamukkale) – Laodicea – Philadelphia – Sardes – Izmir – Istanbul

After having breakfast at the hotel, morning visit to see Hierapolis, The Martyrium of St. Philip the Apostle is here and Eskihisar, ancient Laodicea (Laodicea Revelation 3:14-22). Continue to Alasehir where the ancient Philadelphia Church (Philadelphia Revelation 3:7-13) is located. After lunch proceed to Sardes (Sardes Revelation 3:1-6), the ancient capital of the Lydians and visit the Church of Sardes. Return to Izmir after the tour. Drop off at Izmir Airport for your flight to Istanbul. Istanbul arrival and continue to your hotel.

Day 7: Istanbul

After having breakfast at the hotel, depart for a full day Historical Istanbul Tour. Discover the Byzantine and Ottoman treasures of Istanbul. Visit the Royal Topkapi Palace (home of the Ottoman Sultans), the Blue Mosque (unique with six minarets), the Roman Hippodrome Square and the St. Sophia Church which is considered one of the world’ s greatest architectural marvels. Then visit the Grand Covered Bazaar with over 4.000 tiny shops. return to your hotel after the tour.

Day 8: Istanbul

After having breakfast at the hotel, depart for a full day Bosphorus and Asia Tour. Visit the Egyptian Spice Market, and then embark on a Bosphorus Boat Tour viewing the beauty of the European and Asian shorelines on either side. After lunch, visit the gorgeous St. Chora Museum with its marvelous mosaics and frescoes depicting scenes from the Bible and which dates back to 14th century A.D. Return to your hotel after the tour.

Day 9: Istanbul – Athens

After having breakfast at the hotel, proceed to Istanbul Airport for your flight to Athens. Athens arrival. Meet and greet. Depart to observe the striking contrasts that make Athens such a fascinating city. Your tour will take you see the center of the city, Constitution Square (Syntagma), The House Of Parliament, The Memorial To The Unknown Soldier and the National Library. Driving down Herod Atticus Street, you will see the Evzones in their picturesque uniform and the Presidential Palace. On your way to Acropolis you will see the Adrian arch, visit the Temple of Olympian Zeus and you will make a short stop at the Panathenaic Stadium where the first Olympic games of the modern era were held in 1896. On the Acropolis visit its Museum and the Architectural masterpieces of the the golden age of Athens: the Propylea, the Temple of Athena Nike, the Erechtion, and finally the «harmony between material and spirit», the monument that «puts order in the mind», the Parthenon. Continue to hotel after the tour.

Day 10: Athens – Delphi – Athens

After having breakfast at the hotel, drive through the fertile plain of Boeotia, crossing the Towns of Thebes connected with the tragedy of King Oedipus, Levadia and Arachova. Arrive at Delphi, the center of the Ancient world the navel of the earth – whose prestige extended far beyond the boundaries of the Hellenic World. On the slopes of Mount Parnassus, in a landscape of unparalleled beauty and majesty, lie the ruins of the Sanctuary of Apollo Pythios. Visit the treasury of the Athenians, The temple of Apollo and the museum containing such masterpiece of ancient Greek sculpture as the bronze Charioteer and the famous athlete Aghias. Lunch in the modern village of Delphi, return to Athens by the same route. Continue to hotel after the tour.

Day 11: Athens – Piraeus – Mykonos

Early morning breakfast at the hotel and transfer to Piraeus Port for your departing ferry to Mykonos. 09:35 arrival to Mykonos Island (is a Greek Island, part of the Cyclades, lying between Tinos, Syros, Paros and Naxos. Mykonos’s nickname is “The Island of the Winds“. Tourism is a major industry and Mykonos is well known for its vibrant nightlife). Transfer to hotel. Afternoon is free for leisure.

Day 12: Mykonos – Santorini

Early morning breakfast at the hotel and transfer to Mykonos Port for departing ferry to Santorini. 11:40 arrival to Santorini Island (is an island in the southern Aegean Sea, about 200 km (120 mi) southeast of Greece’s mainland. It is the largest island of a small, circular archipelago, which bears the same name and is the remnant of a volcanic caldera). Start our Santorini tour making our way to Firostefani. The highlights here will be the visit to the Blue Domed Church – the iconic church that has adorned the cover of so many brochures and guidebooks. Continuing to the northwest of Fira, we reach Imerovigli. At about 300 meters above sea level, Imerovigli is very often referred as the “balcony of the Aegean” and it definitely lives up to this name by offering a most spectacular view of the Aegean sunset. Continue to hotel.

Day 13: Santorini – Athens – Rome

After having breakfast at the hotel, proceed to Santorini Airport for your flight to Athens which will connect you to your flight to Rome. Rome arrival. Meet and transfer to your hotel. Afternoon is free for leisure.

Day 14: Rome – Vatican City – Papal Audience – Rome

After having breakfast at the hotel, continue to the Basilica of St. Paul. Outside the Walls for a visit and Mass. We head to Vatican City for the Papal Audience with His Holiness Pope Francesco (subject to Holy Father’s schedule). We take some time on our own for lunch and the rest of our day is at our leisure.

* Important note: Papal audience takes place only on Wednesday around 09:00 am, so it is necessary to be there earlier. So, it is no possible to attend to a local mess before papal audience. St. Peter’s Necropolis doesn’t accept groups bigger that 15 pax and they release group tickets just one month before. So, we won’t be able to confirm it until one month before.

Day 15: Rome

After having breakfast at the hotel, we begin with a visit to the Basilica of St. John Lateran and the nearby Scala Santa, the legendary stairs which Christ climbed prior to His condemnation before Pontius Pilate. For centuries, pilgrims have made this penitential climb on their knees. Then we proceed to the sites of Ancient Rome, viewing the Forum, the Coliseum and the Church of St. Peter’s in Chains as well as Piazza Navona and Pantheon. Tonight we gather for a festive dinner at a local restaurant.

Day 16: Rome

After having breakfast at the hotel, we begin with Mass at St. Peter’s Basilica and then we have a visit of the Scavi excavations beneath the Basilica of St. Peter’s. Then we make our way to the Vatican Museum to view Michelangelo’s masterworks, including the Last Judgment and the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel. After visiting the Museum, our guide will take us to visit St. Peter’s Basilica. Here we will view Michelangelo’s famous Statue of Mary holding her crucified Son. The balance of the afternoon is at leisure.

Day 17: Rome – Tel Aviv – Jaffa

After having breakfast at the hotel, proceed to Rome Airport for your flight to Tel Aviv. Arrive at Tel Aviv Airport. Meet our representative for your transfer to your hotel. Enjoy a welcome dinner and orientation meeting. After the welcome dinner, we will meet our tour guide for an evening tour of Jaffa, the oldest port city in the world. Here you will see St. Peter’s Church and enjoy a view of the Tel Aviv Shoreline from Jaffa’s Hilltop.

Day 18: Tel Aviv – Coastal Plains – Caesarea – Mt. Carmel – Megiddo – Nazareth – Sea of Galilee – Tiberias

After having breakfast at the hotel, enjoy a relaxing drive along the coast of the Mediterranean Sea. Visit Caesarea Maritima, the center of early Christianity. Stop at Mount Carmel (Muhraka), where Elijah challenged the false prophets. See Tel Megiddo and the Valley of Armageddon, the site where the Battle of Armageddon will be fought according to Revelation 16:16. Visit Jesus’ boyhood town of Nazareth and the Church of the Annunciation, the traditional location of the angel Gabriel’s appearance to Mary. Take in a view of Nazareth from Mt. Precipice, where it is believed to have been the site of the rejection of Jesus. Drive by Cana of Galilee, where Jesus performed the miracle of turning water into wine at a wedding feast. Our drive will end at our hotel on the Sea of Galilee in Tiberias.

Day 19: Tiberias – Sail on the Sea of Galilee – Jesus Boat – Golan Heights – Upper Galilee – Caesarea Philippi – Tiberias

After having breakfast at the hotel, board a wooden boat and sail on the Sea of Galilee before visiting the “Ancient Jesus Boat” – the remains of a 2,000 year old fishing boat that would have been the type used by Jesus’ apostles. Visit Magdala, best known as the home of Mary Magdalene. Walk through the ruins of a first century Jewish town where a synagogue from the time of Christ’s ministry was found. Visit the Mount of Beatitudes where Jesus preached the Sermon on the Mount of Matthew 5:8. Drive up to the beautiful Golan Heights. Visit the Banias Spring in ancient Caesaria Philippi. See Tagbha, where Jesus fed the 5,000 with only five loaves of bread and 2 fish. Here you will visit the Church of Multiplication and enjoy its remarkable 4th century Byzantine mosaic floor. End the day by visiting the 2,000 year old remains at Capernaum and stand in the synagogue remains, where Jesus ministered.

Day 20: Tiberias – Mt. of Beatitudes – Tabgha – Capernaum – Beth Shean – Baptismal Site on Jordan River – Dead Sea

After having breakfast at the hotel, visit the baptismal site of Yardenit. The site on the River Jordan, where it is believed that the baptism of Jesus by John the Baptist took place. For those who would like to be baptized today, a white robe can be obtained for $10 per person from the site. Enjoy travelling in the Beit She’an Valley and visit the archaeological site of Beit Shean, which is now protected as an Israeli National Park. Drive through the Jordanian Valley. Relax and float in the Dead Sea, the lowest place on earth.

Day 21: Dead Sea – Masada – Ein Gedi – Qumran – Jerusalem

After having breakfast at the hotel, climb by cable car to the mountaintop stronghold of Masada and explore the ancient sites while learning about the Jewish rebellion against the Romans. Enjoy a view of the oasis of Ein Gedi where David wrote many of his Psalms as he hid from Saul. Visit the ancient Essene Community of Qumran where the ancient biblical texts known as the Dead Sea Scrolls were found in 1947. Stand on the Mount of Olives in Jerusalem and reflect on the Lord’s ascension into heaven.

Pass by Pater Noster Church and visit Dominus Flevit. Take the Palm Sunday Road and visit the Garden of Gethsemane. End the day with a visit to St. Peter of Galicantu commemorating Christ’s prophecy that Peter would deny him three times before the cock crows. Galli-cantu means cockcrow in Latin. Proceed to the Tower of David to watch the Sound and Light Spectacular on Jerusalem Old City wall.

Day 22: Old City Jerusalem – Bethlehem – Jerusalem

After having early breakfast at the hotel, explore the Old City of Jerusalem via the Dung Gate. Visit the Western Wall and surrounding Plaza in the Jewish quarter, including Robinson’s Arch. Visit The Davidson Center Museum and the Southern Temple Mount archaeological excavations. Enter the Christian Quarter of the Old City via the Lion’s Gate and walk along the Via Dolorosa, also known as the Stations of the Cross, which is the route that Jesus walked from the prison to the crucifixion. Along the way you will visit; The Judgment Hall of Pilate, St. Anne’s Church and the Pool of Bethesda. Take time for reflection at the Church of the Holy Sepulcher. Walk through the historic Christian & Jewish quarters of the Old City. Take a break and shop at the bazaars. Visit Mt. Zion, where the Tomb of King David and the Upper Room of the Last Supper are located. Late afternoon visit to Bethlehem, where you will visit the Church of the Nativity and Shepherd’s Field.

Day 23: Jerusalem – Tel Aviv Departure

After having breakfast at the hotel and proceed to Tel Aviv Airport for your flights back home. Drop off at the airport.
